SQL Server is a combination of two core items The first is the administration side of the house. Creating databases, managing logins and users, backups,… etc.
The second part of the equation is that of developing code in a language called Structured Query Language.
Microsoft’s flavor of SQL is called Transact-SQL.
Transact was designed primarily to work with relational databases. Transact is the language used to talk to SQL Server.
When we want to create a database a database we use DDL or Data Definition Language. I’m defining an object when I use the statement with the code.
When we want to see data inside a table we use DML or Data Manipulation Language. I’m not creating an object I’m manipulating the data inside that object.
In this course we are going to learn the basics of Transact-SQL or T-SQL.
We will cover the fundamentals of Transact using real world examples. Additionally, we will discuss some of the best practices associated with crafting clean, high performance code.
You’ll learn why stored procedures are so important to well-designed applications and why ad hoc queries aren’t.

Heres the question posed by class member Sam Siciliano
I am working with 16-bit files now. However, theres one minor oddity I cant figure out. Im saving files as PSD files, but I will then often save a jpg copy as well. I flattent the file, then change to jpg. The jpg option pops up, and I have the preview box checked. However, Im never getting the size to show up like it does in elements. As you change the resolution by sliding the bar or modifying the number, you should see the file size in megabytes. I do see that in Elements, but in CS5, a number never shows up, only the -- where a number should be. Any idea why Im not getting a preview of the size?I checked this out on my Win XP Laptop with Photoshop CS5 … and my Mac with OS X Lion with Photoshop CS3, Choose
File > Save As… and select the file Format: JPEG
Please check this out on your computer, note the OS and the version of Photoshop… And, leave a comment! Let us know if that feature is working or not with your setup.
In the mean time, if you want to see how big your Jpegged file will be, and how it looks compressed you can use the menu item
File > Save for Web & Devices...
not only can you see what the Jpegged file will look like, you can see several jpeg settings at one time… (4 up) at the left of each image you can see the size, and the amount of compression...
By the way, you dont have to flatten your layers to save a jpeg file, Photoshop will flatten all the visible layers for you when yoiu choose to "Save As…" Jpeg or use the menu item
File > Save for Web & Devices...
Remember Jpeg is a lossy format, it will degrade the image.

Although at the beginning of this April RIM (Research in Motion), maker of BlackBerry, has opened up their App World, but because it is still limited to a few countries making BlackBerry users in most countries in the world can not enjoy it.
BlackBerry App World concept is not much different as what has been launched by Apple and Google for each of their products like the iPhone and Android. With the BlackBerry App World, you will be able to download the application straight to the BlackBerry. There are so many applications that are available there, many are free.
Due to the new BlackBerry App World is only available for certain countries only, but that does not mean you let your BlackBerry so empty without additional applications. Unfortunately not.
